By teaching kids of all ages about twisting balloons in various ways we convey a lesson about the flexible nature of our lives. Each of us is in ultimate control of our individual abilities to succeed, imagine and achieve. By facilitating the students to use their imaginations to create new analogies for life, and to find their own creative and confident selves, we give them a sense of scientific and artistic accomplishment. Looking at the core concepts for students we make sure that the sections of our program reach the personal characteristics of: Imagination, Self-Confidence, Perseverance, Awareness, Endurance, Kindness, Adaptability, Perspective, Diversity, Creativity, and Simplicity.
Combining these with the hard science of how balloons function (molecular structure, air pressure & surface area) and the artistic concepts (spacial skills, asymmetrical design, symmetry, perspective) make for a wonderful program for any Science, Art, or Leadership program.
| "In less than 2 hours students explored things like the impact of color on the ease of inflating twisting balloons, why balloons pop and what happens when they do, and some were even ready to start thinking about latex molecules and the way they are able to stretch and contract. This wasn't simply a "hands-on" activity; these students had their minds on too."
